After we returned from our tour of New York City, we had a couple of hours to get ready for the evening ahead - a presentation of the fall collection at Vivienne Tam’s shop on Mercer St.
We were all impressed with the warmth and interest that was shown to us by Vivienne Tam herself. In the middle of a ton of people who had come to see the presentation, she took a lot of time to pose for photos with us and chat. I may not be much of a fashion maven, but I am an admirer of people who know how to treat others, and in this, Vivienne Tam excels.
She was interested in what we had to say, both about her fashion and about the great mini notebook design that she did for HP. Her spring collection that was on the runway last year was built around the peony design she did for HP. She seemed genuinely thrilled that we liked her design and the notebook.
HP had lined two walls with their TouchSmart computers so that anyone could update her blog or check mail, twitter, etc. I’ll let the photos tell the rest of the story.
As if this wasn’t enough, Nick and Chris took us to dinner at Churrascaria Plataforma, one of the most renowned Brazilian restaurants in the country. The amount of food put in front of us was unbelievable and it just kept coming. Ask Xavier about the desserts.
Thursday’s event at Vivienne Tam’s gets even better. Stay tuned for more!
