Have you ever had one of those dreams where it’s so real that you swear that you’re awake even though you know you’re asleep?
I’m sure several women in our group of bloggers who had been invited to New York to attend a fashion presentation at Vivienne Tam’s boutique had that feeling on Thursday morning.
As you’ve seen from previous posts, I was included in the group who were given HP’s Vivienne Tam Edition Mini 1000 Notebook for review. We had attended the fashion presentation the evening before, but invited back for a ‘private event’ just for us.
When we entered the shop, the view was considerably different than it had been the night before. Where the crowd had been, we were now looking at racks of Vivienne Tam’s creations as well as mannequins who showed off even more.
We were told to feel free to look at all the dresses, blouses, skirts, coats, boots and purses - Vivienne Tam’s Spring Collection that had been created around her design for the HP Mini 1000. What an honor and pleasure to be this close to high end clothes, many of which carried the color (and some the pattern) of the notebook. The look of some of the women’s faces as they carefully touched the garments showed that they appreciated what they were seeing.
After everyone had checked out all the racks, Alan Wang from Vivienne Tam’s organization, welcomed us. He then spoke the words that took a few seconds to sink in - he offered everyone there the opportunity to pick out a dress for herself. I think Sierra was the first to realize what he’d said, but others caught on quickly. The applause was spontaneous and the excitement palpable. Once given the word, it was like Christmas with a 5 year old. No one knew where to start, but start they did. This was playing dress up - grown up style!
Once choices of clothes or accesories were completed, cell phones and computers started being pounded, telling friends and readers what had just happened. Talk about envy! The guys had nothing on us.
The purse I chose is the softest, most supple imaginable. As you can see, it was a popular choice. It’s the perfect accessory for the HP Vivienne Tam Edition Mini. It fits inside nicely, and there’s room for the power cord and mouse as well as a wallet and some makeup. This certainly isn’t going to be my everyday clutch, but I love it regardless. I’ve never had anything like it, nor did I ever expect to.
That evening, one last event and they were dressed for it!
Thank you, HP and Vivienne Tam for making a computer that works as well as it looks. Thank you for making it look better than any other computer. Thank you for making it the right size to carry everywhere/ And thank you for not making it pink!
